Autumnism
Here it is again, that time of the year
Pumpkin kisses, spiced lips, fingers interlocked, breeze perfectly chilled
Color changes, oranges, browns, reds
Love in every twisted twig;
Every gust of wind
Reminds me of what’s near, painted for us
In the cotton candy skies
Acorns of opportunity rain on us like stormy weather
Standing firm through clouds of doubt and hopelessness
You wait for the rainbows and birds to come back
Waiting for a moment of silence,
a stillness in the air
To watch a leaf turn anew
Grass dries and takes on a slumber, there’s no greener side to be seen
Just a window slightly ajar, as you lumber through the cold night
Waiting once more for the sun to shine brightly
Doors slam on your face, windows burst open
Possibilities you could never have imagined, swarming
Like a tornado of dirt on a deserted NYC street
Too many to grab, cup overfloweth
Of joyousness, blessings, fruit to bear
Pumpkin to spice and apples to pick
A new day, a new season, a new life
Hugs n’ kisses
